New tools to help strengthen community infection control protocols

Ensure continued safeguarding of residents and caregivers during COVID-19 and beyond with Philips advanced technology.

As COVID-19 continues to increase its dramatic impact on senior living, operators have had to quickly shift their focus to implementing new technology to help manage the health of their community. The Philips Cares for Senior Living – Advanced community management system is one of those technologies with the tools needed to track, trace, and prevent community outbreaks and help keep residents and caregivers healthy during this pandemic.

The Advanced system is regularly updated with new, cloud-based software features and we’re pleased to announce two critical and timely changes to our platform: Contact Tracing Report and Quarantine Mode. These new features offer additional benefits to help strengthen your infection control protocols, while supporting overall resident care.

For communities already using Philips Cares for Senior Living, these updates will be added automatically.

The details:

Feature #1: Contact Tracing Report

A critical way to help control infection is through contact tracing*. The new Contact Tracing Report allows communities to select any resident or caregiver with a BlueBand wearable device and review interactions this individual had with others including the time of day and duration of contact.

This intuitive report allows operators to quickly identify those who the infected individual has come into contact with, in order to prevent spread and to efficiently plan containment measures.

With this new tool, you no longer need to generate multiple reports for each person–you now have a single view in the Community Dashboard that shows everyone that came into contact with a staff member or resident. And what’s best–it’s interactive. The user can click through each name to dig deeper into specific contact information and history.

Feature #2: Quarantine Mode

If the community believes a certain individual may have been exposed to an infectious person or if the individual themselves is displaying symptoms, waiting for test results, or is confirmed infectious, the Community Dashboard now enables operators to place an individual's profile in ‘Quarantine Mode’.

The feature shows alerts in the Community Dashboard with a clear and easy-to-spot identifier that highlights a quarantined individual. This gives valuable, immediate information to staff when they are responding to help requests. They can change their response behavior by exercising more caution when helping an individual at potential risk.

The new Contact Tracing Report and Quarantine Mode are just two new features added to a comprehensive list of infection control capabilities the Advanced system offers. Check out the suite of features here
